The conference will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre which is conveniently located in the heart of the city centre and nestled within the beauty of the Riverbank Precinct, surrounded by parklands and the River Torrens. It is in close proximity to the medical hub, entertainment, cultural and sport precinct. The Centre is a short walk to international and boutique hotels and accommodation. Public transport, the Adelaide Railway Station and a taxi ramp are also on the doorstep. The international airport is just seven kilometres from the Centre, making it a quick and economic taxi ride.

Registration and Welcome Reception

Registration will be held on Sunday, 11 September. The registration desk will open from 15:00 – 18:00 and the Welcome Reception will commence at 16:30 – 18:00 for registered participants and accompanying persons, refreshments will be provided.
The conference begins at 08:45 on the morning of Monday, 12 September and will be held in Hall L, Plaza Level.
Information for Presenters
General Information for Plenary and Parallel Presenters
Plenary Speakers are allocated 30 minutes including 5 minutes question and answer time. Invited Parallel Speakers are allocated 25 minutes including 5 minutes question and answer time and selected Parallel Speakers are allocated 15 minutes including 3 minutes question and answer time.
A computerized slide centre system manages all presentations contained in the scientific programme through a central network. The speaker preparation room is located in Room L1A on the Plaza Level, near the plenary hall (Hall L).
We strongly suggest using PDF as the preferred presentation method, but if you wish to provide a PowerPoint presentation (Windows or Mac) you will need to run through your presentation in the Speaker Preparation Room to ensure your presentation is correctly formatted.
Please note: Standard PowerPoint Presentations need to be adjusted to fit the projector to avoid black edges on your PowerPoint slides. Please ensure your PowerPoint Presentations are in 16:9 and not 4:3.
Presentations on a USB memory stick or personal laptop must be delivered to the speaker presentation room preferably the day before, but no later than 2 hours before the beginning of the session. If you would like to email your presentation email it to: SpeakerSupport@avmc.com.au. This must be clearly labelled in the subject : dd/mm/yy – name of event – room – time in 24 hr – surname of presenter. There is a 20 mb limit per email.
This timing allows for a smooth upload of presentations and a swift transition to the assigned meeting rooms.
General Information for Poster Presenters
There will be two poster sessions. The first one will be held on the afternoon of Monday, 12 September from 16:50 to 18:00. The second session will be held on Thursday, 15 September from 16:50 to 18:00 and refreshments will be provided for both sessions.
Maximum poster size is A0 (1189 x 841 mm / 46.8 x 33.1 in). Your poster can be printed landscape or portrait. There are no poster printing facilities at the Convention Centre so your poster must be printed and brought along with you.
The poster boards will be available for you to put up your poster on Sunday when you register. You will be given adhesive material to hang your poster along with a poster number in your registration pack. Please find the corresponding number on the poster board and place your poster here.
Poster presenters will need to stand by their posters for at least the first half hour of both poster sessions.

The afternoon of Wednesday, 14 September has been allocated as a free afternoon. Places are limited and you can only attend your nominated tour. If you have selected to attend one of the tours below you will have received a colour coded ticket which you will need to present when boarding the bus. A packed lunch will be supplied which can be eaten on the bus. You will need to collect your packed lunch and then make your way to the buses which will be located on North Terrace in front of the Adelaide Convention Centre and from there you will be directed to the bus corresponding to your ticket colour. The buses will depart at 12:50 sharp.

On Thursday, 15 September, at 18:30 the Conference Dinner will be held at the iconic Adelaide Oval. The Adelaide Oval is situated across the River Torrens from North Terrace and set deep within Colonel Light’s commanding vision for the city and its encircling parks and gardens. It has hosted both cricket and football at the highest level since Colonial times and its iconic, historic and cultural presence remains today. The Adelaide Oval is a short 2 minute walk from the Adelaide Convention Centre across the footbridge which runs across the River Torrens.
For the participants that have requested special dietary requirements could you please make yourself and your special requirements known to the waiting staff.
For entry to the dinner you will be required to bring your dinner ticket with you, which you will have received at registration with your name badge. Dress code is smart casual.
